Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-07-20

These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to the websites, Console, Playground, APIs, MCP Server, Agents, and related tools provided by Shanghai Jing'an District Mafdet Software Development Studio, doing business as Mafdet AI ("Mafdet," "we," or "us"), through mafdet.ai and its subdomains (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account, purchasing a product, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

1. Eligibility

The Service is primarily intended for professional and business users. You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. You are responsible for confirming that the Service, selected models, and generated content may lawfully be used in your location and intended use case.

2. Accounts, organizations, and credentials

  • Provide accurate, current information and protect your password, API keys, BYOK provider credentials, and signed-in devices.
  • Do not share personal login credentials. Applications may use API keys you authorize, but the organization remains responsible for all activity under those keys.
  • Organization owners and administrators control members, permissions, wallets, subscriptions, API keys, BYOK credentials, and organization data. Organization resources remain under organization control when a member leaves.
  • If you suspect unauthorized access or credential exposure, revoke the affected credential immediately and contact [email protected].

3. Service scope

Mafdet provides multi-model routing, authentication, metering, billing, and related developer tools. Different features follow different commercial paths:

  • MANAGED API uses provider credentials managed by Mafdet and debits the API wallet at the published model price;
  • BYOK API uses provider credentials that you supply and authorize; the provider bills you for model usage and Mafdet may charge a platform service fee under the published rules;
  • Playground usage is governed by the subscription plan, current-period allowance, model tier, and feature entitlements;
  • MCP, Agent, and tool features may read account summaries you expressly authorize or initiate requests on your behalf, subject to account, organization, API-key scope, and product controls.

We may improve, replace, limit, or discontinue a model, provider, preview feature, or integration. Third-party model availability, regions, and capabilities may change without notice.

4. Your content and permission to process it

You retain your rights in prompts, uploaded materials, Playground sessions, and other content you submit. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive permission to process that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service you request, including transmitting requests to the model or tool provider you select. You represent that you have the rights needed to submit the content and that it does not violate another person's intellectual-property, privacy, confidentiality, or other rights.

Unless we agree otherwise in writing, we do not use your API request bodies to train a Mafdet proprietary model. A third-party model provider's handling of requests depends on the selected product, account type, and provider terms.

5. Acceptable use

You must not use the Service to:

  • engage in unlawful, fraudulent, infringing, harassing, exploitative, or harmful activity;
  • create or distribute malware, steal credentials, bypass security controls, or probe systems without authorization;
  • circumvent billing, allowances, rate limits, model tiers, regional controls, or other access restrictions;
  • use bulk registration, shared identities, or automation to farm promotional credit, trials, or refunds;
  • submit personal data, trade secrets, or regulated data that you are not authorized to process;
  • make medical, legal, credit, employment, insurance, critical-infrastructure, or other high-impact decisions without appropriate human review and legally required safeguards;
  • violate the terms or acceptable-use policies of the selected model, search, email, payment, or other upstream provider; or
  • resell or redistribute the Service in a way that conceals end users, evades risk controls, or causes us to violate an upstream contract or law.

We may investigate suspected abuse and apply reasonable rate limits, model restrictions, holds, suspension, or termination.

6. Third-party services, BYOK, and model output

Requests may be processed by third-party model, search, or tool providers. BYOK users have a separate contract and billing relationship with their provider and are responsible for credential permissions, provider quotas, and provider charges. We do not guarantee the continuing availability of any third-party model.

AI output is machine generated and may be inaccurate, outdated, incomplete, biased, or similar to output provided to others. You must review output appropriately before using or publishing it. The Service and its output are not legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice.

7. Fees, wallet credit, and pricing

  • Prices use the currency and billing units displayed at purchase or request time. Model pricing may distinguish input, output, cache, tool, or other billing dimensions.
  • API wallet credit is prepaid credit for Mafdet services. It is not a bank account, deposit, or general-purpose stored-value product, earns no interest, and may not be resold or transferred except where required by law.
  • Final charges are calculated from the Service's records of model, tokens, request status, and applicable price. Interface estimates are informational; the final ledger is the billing record. You may request review of an evident system billing error.
  • Promotional, bonus, and trial credit has no cash value, may expire, and may be withdrawn if issued in error, obtained fraudulently, or abused.
  • We may change future prices. Subscription-price changes will be notified within the period required by applicable law and apply to a later billing cycle. Usage-price changes may apply to new requests and will not be applied retroactively to completed requests.

8. Subscriptions, automatic renewal, and cancellation

Playground subscriptions automatically renew for the period shown at purchase until canceled. You authorize Paddle to charge the applicable price and taxes for each renewal. You may cancel through your account; cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period and stops the next renewal.

Included allowances and Playground top-up packs apply only to the specified billing period, do not roll over, and cannot be redeemed for cash. The checkout, account page, and Paddle transaction record determine when an upgrade, downgrade, or cancellation takes effect.

9. Payment, taxes, and refunds

Paddle acts as merchant of record and handles payment, taxes, receipts, and approved refunds. The buyer terms and privacy policy presented by Paddle at checkout also apply to the purchase transaction. See our Refund Policy. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights.

10. Intellectual property

The Service software, interfaces, brands, documentation, and non-user content belong to Mafdet or its licensors. These Terms grant only a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the Service while the Terms remain in effect. No intellectual-property right is transferred. You may provide feedback, and we may use feedback that does not contain your confidential information or personal data without restriction.

11. Availability and preview features

Unless a separate written service-level agreement applies, the Service is not guaranteed to be continuous, error-free, or uninterrupted. Maintenance, upstream outages, network events, model withdrawal, legal requirements, or events beyond reasonable control may interrupt the Service. Features labeled beta, preview, experimental, or similar may change at any time and should not be used as the sole component of a critical production workflow.

12. Suspension, termination, and export

We may immediately restrict or suspend the Service for a material breach, fraud or security risk, non-payment, upstream requirement, or legal obligation. Where reasonably possible, we will explain the reason. You may stop using the Service, cancel subscriptions, and request account closure.

Termination does not remove charges incurred before termination. Treatment of purchased balance is governed by the Refund Policy and mandatory law. Export information you need before closing the account; billing, audit, and dispute records may be retained where legally required.

13. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without express, implied, or statutory warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or continuous availability. We do not warrant third-party model output, provider services, or external links.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mafdet is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages, or for loss of profit, revenue, opportunity, data, or goodwill. Our aggregate liability arising from or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you actually paid for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. This section does not limit liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

15. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you will indemnify Mafdet and its operators against reasonable losses and costs arising from a third-party claim caused by your content, your product, unlawful use, breach of these Terms, or infringement of third-party rights, except to the extent the claim was caused by Mafdet's own fault.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will provide advance notice of material changes through the site, in-product notice, or your account email and state the new effective date. Where express consent is legally required, we will request it. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
